Hello from Rock Springs Guest Ranch!

After some discussion, our staff has convinced us that it’s time we put up a blog about life here. This blog will be open for input from all of our staff, as well as guests and friends of Rock Springs Guest Ranch in Bend, Oregon. Things we hope to include are impressions about our experiences as dude ranchers, employees, and guests.

John, the girls, and I just returned from the Dude Ranchers’ Association convention down at Rancho de los Caballeros in Wickenburg. We had a great trip. We took the girls out of school and headed to Sedona for a few days before hand, and loved it. The convention was fun; dude ranchers by nature are a bit of a wild bunch, although I turned in fairly early every night as the kids were with us. I’m glad to see John’s term as president and a long run on the board come to an end. Although it has been a great experience for him, the commitment was huge. We’re ready to have him back.

We’ve been working on the details of the new programs for this summer, including centered riding instruction and Bend Bounty culinary weeks. Lots of very cool stuff coming up!

As Eva mentioned, we are very excited about some new programming that we will be offering this summer. Things like Centered-Riding Instruction, Cooking classes & demonstrations, guided Mt. Bike trips are all new and exciting. Our new Executive Chef, Steven Hazell, has some really great ideas that will make the dining experience at Rock Springs something new, fun, and memorable for all our guests, kids included.
